The 20th China (Langfang) Agriculture Trade Fair got underway at the International Exhibition Center in Langfang, Hebei province on Sept 26.
The fair will run for four days and display Hebei’s newest achievements in agriculture to promote the province's agricultural products to domestic and overseas markets. The event is also a good opportunity for investors to link up with projects and acts as a platform to deepen agricultural cooperation with other regions and countries.
Approximately 2,500 representatives from 900 businesses in more than 20 countries were invited to attend this year's fair, including those from the US, Netherlands and Lithuania.
Five indoor and outdoor exhibition areas have been set up at the fair, housing everything from breeding livestock displays and agricultural machinery to food produce and grains.
Fifteen promotional activities will be held over the course of the fair, including a match-making meeting for famous agriculture businesses, supermarkets and online retailers. It will also feature a forum on modern agricultural development and a summit for agriculture sightseeing.
A signing ceremony of agriculture cooperation projects was held on the opening day, at which deals for 40 projects worth 28.4 billion yuan ($4.26 billion) were penned.
Zhang Qingwei, governor of Hebei province, said the province will carry out supply-side reforms in agriculture and upgrade its industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period (2016-2020).
